About

My name is Sydney Zatz and I am a University of Iowa graduate. I was born and raised in Eagan, Minnesota.  I graduated with a double-major in Journalism and Sports Studies as well as a minor in Sport and Recreation Management.

Ever since middle school I've always been known for being actively involved outside of the classroom. In high school, I was an avid choir student. I also spent time working with the theater department and other various student organizations. I got involved with my high school newscast, Eagan AM my junior year and from there my passion for journalism was born.

At Iowa, I continued to become involved outside of the classroom. I worked with the Big Ten Student Union, the Student Advancement Network as the VP of Communications and I was a multimedia journalist for DITV. I also participated as a teacher's assistant for the Passport Project First-Year Seminar.

In my free time, I enjoy going to concerts and binge-watching reality TV. I enjoy traveling and aspire to travel to as many countries as possible. If I could travel to any place in the world, I would choose Greece.

About

Television

When I was younger, I loved to be the center of attention and to perform.  Performing is something I've always loved, and I consider TV reporting as a related art form.

In high school, I was fortunate enough to get a spot on my high school newscast, Eagan AM.  When I graduated, I was saddened that the Eagan AM chapter of my life was coming to an end.  I could only hope I would get another chance, such as the one I had with Eagan AM in high school.

Through Eagan AM, I had the chance to film at the 2014 Red Bull Crashed Ice Tournament in St. Paul, MN.  I also filmed at the 2013 and 2014 State Girls' Volleyball State Tournament, and the 2014 State Boys' Hockey Tournament.

I was fortunate enough to get a chance to be a part of the University of Iowa's newscast, DITV

At Iowa, I became a part of the Big Ten Student U.  Through that, I worked events such as baseball, wrestling, volleyball, and women's basketball.  I also did a variety of behind the scenes work, such as camera work, and the switchboard.
